Units Command- in AutoCAD. AutoCAD drawing units

Units Command:

Units command is used to
  • Change type and precision of length and angle.
  • Change insertion scale
The short form of units command is "un". When you type un in AutoCAD and press enter this will appear on the screen

Type of length:

  • Decimal
  • Architectural
  • Engineering
  • Fractional
  • Scientific

Type of Angles:

  • Decimal Degrees
  • DEG/ MIN/ SEC
  • Grads
  • Radians
  • Surveyor's units
There are many measuring units:
  • Inches 
  • feets
  • millimeters
  • yards 
  • miles etc
The default length type in AutoCAD is decimal, default angle type is decimal degrees and default unit is inches.

For architectural units ( ' ) indicates feets and ( " ) indicates inches.
